Two GOP-led House committees voted Wednesday to advance a resolution to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena, as House Republicans continue a thus far unsuccessful search for evidence to determine whether President Joe Biden was financially involved in his son’s foreign business dealings.
Hunter Biden made an unexpected appearance at an Oversight Committee meeting Wednesday afternoon, where he was immediately slammed by Republican lawmakers, with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) calling him the “epitome of white privilege” and arguing he “should be arrested right here, right now, and go straight to jail.” The younger Biden, along with his legal team, left the meeting when conservative firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) was called on to address her colleagues.
