Phoenix, AZ –On Saturday, Arizona Republican State Committeemen came together to oversee and participate in the tabulation of bylaw ballots cast by their colleagues at the recent Mandatory Meeting in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Nearly 60 Committeemen from across the state volunteered to hand-count the ballots, which have been secured since they were cast one week ago.
“I want to express my gratitude to the State Committeemen and Precinct Committeemen who stepped up today to conduct the tabulation process. Our members take the time to develop, improve, and introduce bylaws for our members’ consideration, so they deserved this effort to secure and accurately count these ballots,” stated AZGOP Chairman Sergio Arellano.
The tabulation of the Bylaws ballots for the 2026 Mandatory meeting was incomplete due to the time limitations of the facility contract. The ballots were secured and transported back for this hand count.
“As someone who believes in secure elections, it was great that we could lead by example,” said Arellano, adding, “I believe today’s process will help to restore faith that we are doing things the right way and that every lawful vote is counted.”
A total of 1,428 ballots were cast. Under the bylaws, adoption required a two-thirds majority (952 votes) of all ballots cast.
