PHOENIX, ARIZONA - The State of Arizona has announced an important update regarding the 2024 Primary Election. The election date has been moved to July 30, 2024. This change affects several key dates and deadlines for candidates, including those filing for Precinct Committeemen (PCs).
Updated Candidate Filing Deadlines: In light of this change, the deadline for candidate petition filing is now April 1, 2024. Candidates are required to submit their Original Nomination Papers and Nomination Petitions by 5:00 p.m. on this date. The filing window for Partisan Candidate Petitions is from March 2 to April 1, 2024.
10-Day Challenge Period:
A 10-Day Challenge Period will take place from April 2 to April 15, 2024.
Precinct Committeemen Write-In Candidate Deadline:
The deadline for Precinct Committeemen write-in candidates is April 15, 2024.
Acceptance of Existing Nominating Petitions:
Candidate nomination petitions that are in circulation with the old primary date of August 6, 2024, will be accepted. When issuing new petitions, candidates should use the new primary date of July 30, 2024.
Additional guidance on E-Qual petitions will be forthcoming from state, county, and city election officials.
