Tucson voters overwhelmingly reject 'sanctuary' status push by Democrats

PHOENIX – Republican Party of Arizona Chairman Dr. Kelli Ward issued the following statement on Tucson voters' rejection of Prop 205:

"Last night, Tucson voters overwhelmingly rejected the Democrats' push to make their city a 'sanctuary' for illegal immigrants. Instead, Tucsonans chose to prioritize their city's safety and economy, rightly recognizing that Prop 205 — like so many other immigration proposals by the Left — would put citizens at risk and lead to unintended consequences. This vote is a win for the safety of Arizona and the entire nation."
